What exactly is psyllium?
Psylliumis obtained from a plant called desert Indianwheat (Plantago Ovata). The seeds of this plant have a sheath in the form of transparent husks. These are psyllium husks. In English “psyllium husk”. Psyllium husks are ground and thus psyllium powder is obtained. In English “psyllium powder”.
Is all psyllium powder the same?
No. Psyllium powder differs in the level of grinding fineness. The finer the powder, the better. The finest ground psyllium is marked 40. After grinding, the psyllium is sieved to obtain greater purity. The highest quality psyllium is 99% pure.
